It has been quite a few years since I graduated from the NZIBS freelance photography course. The course I believe gave me the skills to go out and achieve. I have spent since qualifying about 8 years working in the wedding market, I worked as a freelance photographer for 2 years for another wedding photographer who had too much work.

From there I went out on my own and have loved the experience of photographing that magical day for the bride and groom. During this time and still now, I have several commercial contracts, medical products, earthquake rebuilds for the Catholic Diocese, and demolition of the existing site.

During this time, I enter using my own work into International salons, from the successes I have achieved here I have reached the level of Excellence with the Federation of International Art of Photography and Excellence level with the Photographic Society of America. I have also assembled bodies of work to enter portfolios for assessment. I was the first in New Zealand to achieve Gold level portfolio with the Photographic Society of America, 2018. I have also achieved Fellowship level with the Photographic Society of New Zealand, 2017.

For the last 2 years, I have been an online instructor and this year I was invited and trained to become a portfolio assessor. I now am doing very few weddings and for the last 7 years I have been building my workshop business and all is going well. Next year I am booked to travel to Australia to teach a 3-day workshop in Newcastle.
