A lucky break was my daughter finding her biological dad. She was born by donor in the 1990s, and as it was very secretive back then. To cut a very long and complicated story short, it turned out that he is the brother of a very well-known children’s story writer! So, lucky me was taken under her wing, and she was and still is a great help. The main thing she taught me was to keep cutting words out to make the stories short and to the point. It’s amazing how many words you don’t actually need. I’ve learned that little kids ages 2  to 6 just like good illustrations and very simple but exciting story lines.
